Exploring the relationship with my mother and implementing her writings throughout the prints. These prints also explores the views of my mother on the role of what it means to be a woman.

Brother and farmland Series

2017.
Relief Print on Stonehenge, and/or on Handmade Paper.

This series is dedicated to my brother. The prints show my brother as a child and it is paring his life to present events. In the event, that he is expecting a child with his wife and moving into a new home. I compare the past and presnt with the home and the land. The old home is where he grew up and the new home is where he will raise his family.

Childhood Tree Series

2017.
Relief Print on Stonehenge, and/or on Handmade Paper.

I recorded the event of my childhood tree being taken down by a machine, and then the left-over pieces being burned by my dad. I combined drawings traced from old photographs of me and family members interacting with the tree when it was still alive. The handmade paper was made out of the bark of the fallen tree.

Printmaking Four

2017.
Relief Print on Stonehenge, Handmade Paper, and/or on Fabric

Early Advanced Printmaking work, I knew I wanted to work with drawings from my families old photographs but I never established a story to them. Which later on in Printmaking I did develop stories in each of the series.

Enchanted assortments

Roll the dice, let the magic arise!

direction:

Instead of following a predetermined list, you'll roll a dice to randomly select the item to draw for each day.
Each week has a theme and a list of items that corresponds to the theme of the week.
You can use the list of items provided, or you can add more items of your choice to create a more personalized challenge.
If you roll a number you’ve already got for the week, roll again. You can roll 2+ times for one day to create hybrids.
Use the medium of your choice. Tag me @enelra.lene with your creations or hashtag #EnchantedAssortments24

About

enelra.lene

As an individual who grew up in both rural and urban areas, I would say that I love the contrast between both worlds. It is the same with my art making–while I am majoring in graphic design, I am just as passionate about my printmaking. They are two different worlds that both work together. I like to often branch out and learn new techniques when working on a current project or in my free time.
Constantly learning new things is what keeps my creative mind alive and evolving. To create more character, I bring techniques in to my work that I learned as a fine arts student.
